Why I talk such garbage
27th August 2011
If you ever wonder why I talk, tweet and blog such garbage, why the copy on this site is a little random, it's because I shouldn't really be here at all.
You see, I should actually be a PhD in political sociology right now lecturing garbage to god knows who but I gave the damn thing up six months in because I was living in London and found that I couldn't do what I really wanted to do in my mid twenties (which was drink as much as possible and be as promiscuous as I possibly could) on next to nothing.
There was also a degree of survival instinct in there. Reading Mille Plateaux on Clapham Common drinking Special Brew can take you lots of places, but some of them can be quite ugly. It was only ever going to end in tears.
So I thought to hell with the PhD, I'll pick it up in my forties and fifties, and got a job. And 12 or so years later, the average lifetime of a Jack Russell, here I am.
And as for that PhD, to hell with it, I figure it's impossible to be creative if you articulate your thought within a predefined structure - within any structure in fact - so it looks like you'll have to put up with me for a while longer yet.
